A Seed Planted in Grace
Cindy Widjaja /ˈsɪn.di ʊi.dʒaɪ.a/ was born into a Christian home in Surabaya, Indonesia, on 16 May 1982. Her father, Peter Widjaja /ˈpɪ.tɪr ʊi.dʒaɪ.a/, departed this life when she was only a year and a half old. Even so, the grace of God was not far from her. Her mother, Lily Tenggala /ˈlɪl.i təŋ.ɡa.la/, a faithful widow, weak and yet strong in the Lord, raised her in the ways of the Lord. Thus, a seed was planted in Cindy’s heart—a seed of faith—that, in due time, would break forth and bear fruit.
A Heart Burning for the Lord
As she grew in years, the flame within her grew brighter. The youngest in both the Widjaja /ˈʊi.dʒaɪ.a/ and Tenggala /‘təŋ.ɡa.la/ families, Cindy walked a path marked by simplicity, yet her heart was fuelled by a burning passion for the Lord. She began serving as a kindergarten teacher in a Christian school, offering her hands to the little ones and her heart to God.
A Vision and a Call
Before the crusade began, the Lord whispered to Cindy in a vision. Alone in her hotel room in Jakarta, she saw a word—flashing across her vision from the right to the left: “NIGERIA.”
“It was something I could never have imagined—going to Nigeria,” she confessed. “But what could I do? The Lord had spoken. I was not faced with options—I simply had to obey.”
Into the Furnace of Discipleship
Following the crusade, at the age of twenty-five, Cindy surrendered her life to serve God under Prophet TB Joshua through Emmanuel TV and The Synagogue, Church of All Nations (SCOAN). She arrived in Nigeria on 10 October 2007, with nothing but obedience in her heart and trust in the One who called her.
“I never imagined that going to Nigeria would become the most precious chapter of my life,” Cindy reflected. “Prophet TB Joshua was more than a mentor—he was the father I had long prayed for during my childhood. God heard. God answered.
"He took me in when I was unknown to the world, and he believed in the purpose the Sovereign God had written over my life. Day and night, he trained me in the fire of life, in faith, and in the fear of the Lord. I am beyond grateful to have been found by one of God’s greatest generals, by His grace.”

Kept in Love and Correction
One day, after a moment of hard correction, Prophet TB Joshua said to her as a loving father:
“Cindy, I can’t afford to lose you. That is why I will go extra mile to help you change.”
Those words struck her heart like an arrow of grace. At that moment, she remembered the words of the Lord Jesus from the Gospel of John:
“Those whom You gave Me I have kept; and none of them is lost...”
— John 17:12
“Daddy, Prophet TB Joshua you could have let me go away from the discipleship, but you kept me. Thank you, my dear father,” Cindy cried silently in her heart, as a pool of tears welled in her eyes—tears she could not hold back.
The Thunderclap of Parting
“It was as if a mighty thunderclap split the heavens on a day of perfect peace. My heart ceased its rhythm, stunned in silence. I had believed I would journey with you until the trumpet sounded and the skies rolled back for the return of Christ. But like a thief in the night, the moment came—too soon, too sudden. Alas! The Lord has spoken, who can question Your timing or resist Your decree?” her heart cried in sorrow, deep as the sea.
A Final Word
A few weeks before his passing, Prophet TB Joshua had declared:
“The next thing is for all of you to go back to your countries.”
No one understood his words. On 10 October 2021, after 14 years in Nigeria, Cindy returned to Indonesia to seek the face of God.
“Waiting on the Lord can feel like an endless wilderness,” she said. “But even silence shall pass. His voice will come.”
Divine Reunion and New Instruction
In that season of waiting, she received an invitation to the wedding of her ‘big brother,’ Prophet Racine Bousso, and his bride, Ruth, whom she fondly refers to as ‘my sister.’
“It was Brother Racine who introduced me to Prophet TB Joshua,” she remembered.
The Call to Birth
While supporting the ministry of The UOG, God opened a new path in her life. She received a divine prompting as God whispered to her heart: “Write what you read.” The inspiration grew, and soon, a new idea emerged—to start a ministry. This was something that had never crossed her heart or mind before.
Back to the Beginning
On 22 June 2025, Cindy returned to the land of her beginning—Surabaya, Indonesia. Two days later, she withdrew on a solo retreat to seek the face of God and the clarity of His voice concerning her newly awakened calling.
“There, in the silence, came strength. In the stillness, came courage,” she said.
Route to Life Is Born
And so Route to Life (RTL) was born—not out of ambition, but obedience.
“Prophet TB Joshua, thank you for believing in the purpose of God for my life. This is my ‘thank you.’ To God be all the glory.” – Cindy Widjaja
The Prayer That Guides the Journey
“Lord Jesus, let me feel my hand in Yours, and let me know the joy of walking in Your strength—not mine.”
This is the prayer taught by her mentor, Prophet TB Joshua that leads her onward, as she walks the path marked out for her by grace—a path called Route to Life, all for the glory of God.
